Let me start by telling you a little bit about the history behind this gorgeous home that sits on a little over 6 acres that run alongside the scenic Rita Blanca Canyon.  The original portion of the home was built in 1984 by the Matthews Brothers, who were local builders priding themselves on their top quality materials, their detailed craftsmanship, and their impeccable reputation for constructing higher-end custom homes. The story comes to me that the Matthews Brothers used north slope pine to frame the home.  North slope pine was supposed to be a much stronger wood since it came from the side of the mountain with less light, which in turn made the wood a stronger, tougher grade.  And, there were no 2″ x 4″ framing materials utilized – it was all 2″ x 6″.  Such strong and sturdy bones!  The home is brick and stucco with a Class 4 metal barrel tile roof that carries a 50-year transferrable warranty.  Windows are Andersen/Pella.  Flooring includes hardwoods, antique Mexican driveway tile, marble, ro-tile concrete tile (tough as can be), custom high-end carpet, and hand painted tile.  The 3 central heating and air units have been recently updated.  There is a recirculating hot water system with instant hot water that services the newer 100 gallon water heater.  

In 2013, the home’s footprint was increased to approximately 5564 square feet of luscious living area.  This improvement included the round library with its 14′ ceiling, the secluded master suite, the hallway full of windows, a large utility room with utility sink, a second story bedroom suite overlooking the pool, and a private bathroom that serviced the recreation/pool area.  Not calculated into the living area is another +/- 2000 square feet of recreational area that includes the pool, hot tub, fully equipped stainless steel kitchen & island, and living area with fireplace, PLUS an additional oversized garage stall, and several patios.

Accessing the master suite area, you will be greeted by a round library with a double set of windows that allow an abundance of natural lighting and its 14′ ceiling.  The warm feeling of the room is enhanced by the hardwood floors.  The library and the master bedroom share a private patio that is easily accessed by both rooms.  The hardwood floors continue through the master bedroom and includes the custom carpet inlay, vaulted ceilings, and corner windows that overlook the canyon.  The master closet is spacious with custom built-in cabinets and the master’s washer and dryer.  Detailed marble flooring in the master bathroom helps to showcase the claw foot soaking tub, the separate his and her vanities, and the oversized walk-in shower with multiple showerheads.

All of the other 3 bedrooms are spaciously sized, with nice walk-in closets; and, each bedroom has its own private bathroom.  Two of the 3 bedrooms have unobstructed views of the canyon area while the second-story third bedroom has a set of French doors that open onto a balcony overlooking the pool, hot tub,  and recreational area.  If a 5th bedroom is needed, there is plenty of room in the attic over the two bedrooms that will allow for that addition.

The rec area contains a gorgeous 47′ long, solar heated pool that is 9′ deep, holding capacity of 26,000 gallons.  The pool can be utilized all year long – the long set of telescoping windows allow the pool to be enclosed during the winter, but opened back up in the warmer months.   There is a water slide, diving board, and hot tub.  As an added convenience, there is a three-quarter bath that is easily accessed from the pool and recreation area.  The second fully-equipped kitchen here contains stainless steel appliances and a huge granite island.  There is a living area with a fireplace that makes watching your favorite sports channel fun for everyone.  What a great place to have tons of fun and to create the best of memories.

There is a concrete basketball court and a public park style playground equipment, providing even more fun activities for all to enjoy.  The 5 stall livestock barn with pipe runs, heated automatic waterers, and tack room are ideal for horses or for those 4-H livestock projects.  For the hikers, there is contiguous gated access to the Rita Blanca Canyon Park.  And, if you need to shower off before you head inside after a fierce game of basketball, a long hike,  or from working with the animals, there’s an outdoor shower.
